Feeling L.O.V.E.D.: Local Charity Feeds 2,000

By KGNS News

At least 500 lined up at the South Texas Food Bank early this morning. The Laredo Organized Volunteers for the Elderly and Disadvantaged--or 'L.O.V.E.D.' Organization--helped provide 2,000 bags of food for needy families today. Families enrolled in food bank programs received all kinds of items: from potatoes to bread, and even turkey--depending on what they qualify for. Volunteers of all ages were present to lend a helping hand and say they were very glad to do so. 'A lot of people say they're thankful. It makes you feel good you did something good,' says Alexa Tamez, a volunteer. People enrolled in various food bank programs also received some help today, just in time for the holidays.
