School representatives gathered today to share the gift of reading with local children. Librarians from UISD, LISD, as well as LCC and TAMIU, met in Mall Del Norte for a public reading of children's literature. It's part of an effort of Laredo Reads, a committee bringing educators together with the City of Laredo to help bring a major bookstore to the city.
This comes after the announcement to close B. Dalton nationwide, making Laredo the largest city without a bookstore. The committee is hosting an online petition. You can sign the petition at www.laredoreads.com .
