The juvenile being held in the murder case of two year old Katherine Cardenas could be in court in a few weeks. It’s been months since authorities named a 16 year old boy as the person allegedly responsible for the horrible death of the two year old baby girl. Since then the case has been back and forth in hearings. According to the Webb County Attorney, Ana Laura Cavazos, the hearing for the boy to be certified as an adult should have been heard back on December 12th. But that didn't happen as the defense asked for another mental evaluation on the juvenile. Cavazos says that is the hold up, since they say there is no doctor in Laredo that can do the evaluation. According to Cavazos, they are hoping to hear the case in court in mid January. Meanwhile, the 16 year old is still in custody.
