New lanes to cut down on wait at World Trade Bridge

By KGNS News

Some changes are coming for the World Trade Bridge in Laredo, which will help speed up the process of crossing the border. The customs inspection station at the bridge is undergoing an expansion project. The addition of seven new lanes will mean shorter wait times but it comes with a price tag of over $4 Million, paid for by the city of Laredo. The money is coming from the city's capital grants fund and the 2008 bridge revenue bond. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled at the bridge for Tuesday morning.

Actually, if you only add agents to the current closed lanes; traffic will speed up!
