“No more wasting time” were the words that came out of one council members mouth and the motion followed by the rest at last night's special meeting.
All this during the presentation by the developers of Laredo’s future snow park, but it doesn't look like we'll be seeing one any time soon.
It’s not cheap to take a family of seven to a snow park for the day, and the price tag to build one is even more outrageous: Try $65-million to enjoy snow attractions in the Gateway City.
Developers of the facility say the park would be more geared towards people from out of town.
There are several other places around the world that have a facility such as this one.
Dubai, which is hotter than Laredo, was the first place to build an indoor ski park.
England has several of these parks, and there are others throughout Europe that are said to be very successful.

Instead of spending millions on something so ridiculous Laredo should spend money on making some kind of Museum, art gallery etc. to benefit the children in Laredo.

Why doesn't the council just develop companies under their last names? That way we the public wouldn't have such a hard time trying to figure out why they make such absurd decisions?

I have a better idea, let's take the Laredo Bucks' ice skates and have them play hockey games outdoors instead.

Well i'm glad the council finally shows some type of wisdome. Now if they will give up on a second golf course and bs like that. Laredo needs to develope manufacturing jobs instead of wasting money on stuff NO average citizen will be able to afford. Get us some manufacturing companies in here and watch laredo blossom into a gem of south texas.

Only a fool picudo de Laredo will think to compare Dubai with Laredo, Dubai has a lot of money and a lot of oil and the population is comparable to the Laredo population. Their neighbors are Saudi Arabia, Oman, kuwait are zillion-millionaires.

I can't wait until re-election time so we can finally put the days of the Raul salinas dictatorship to an end. I just hope we get to pick from a better ballot that has some variety in handling the Real problems in Laredo..we don't need tourist friendly facilities.. We need more structure and organization and professional management in things like public works..roads, traffic lights, law enforcement, and a frickin barnes and noble and more strip clubs

Well that's good that they finally gave up on that idea, maybe now we can focus on the important things like the floating race track or underwater cafeteria, or maybe just maybe we can throw thousands of dollars away ON A QUIDDITCH COURT. All of these people on the board need to be locked in porta potties and set on fire, I mean how stupid do you have to be to try and bring winter to hell, jeez.

But, but, then what will we (our manager and mayor) offer all those from Central America?
35375149Dubai?? said on Tuesday, Jan 12 at 12:16 AM
Dubai is a small country full of oil, and full of ptro-dollars, we are full of poor people. Just ask the food stamps providers. Do not waste the taxpayers time and money and take your nightmares to Mexico or other country, by the way Dubai is about 12000 miles from Laredo.
