Katherine Cardenas' mother facing felony charges

We have a major development to report in the case of two-year-old Katherine Cardenas.
The two-year-old girl was found dead at her home back in September of last year.
Many people have been wondering why her mother was never held responsible, but she's facing felony charges now.
Norma Palacios Holguin has been indicted on 13 felony counts.
Twelve of those are for child abandonment; the other for aggravated sexual assault of a minor.
According to the Webb County District Attorney, the charges stem from the woman allegedly leaving her children alone at home.

There you have it Laredo ens, just to prove how the criminal justice scale works here in Laredo, "GUILTY AFTER PROVEN INNOCENT" WHAT A JOKE LAREDO", hope this goes national. It's about ****** time something was actually done to the person responsible for the whole deal, not the officer nor the principal. At least we know the mother is guilty of all charges, not like they treated the officer guilty before proven innocent.

Everyone shares responsability for this case, The negligence that was made by school administrators nurse included has to be made public and stop the "you scratch my back and I scratch yours" LISD policy. Make those names public so we can know who not to trust next time .

Well all I can say is it's about time. And I do believe EVERYONE who did not lift a finger to help this child and her siblings knowing full well what was going on in that house should also be charged too. The school, CPS, neighbors, relatives ETC., ETC., ETC. Did you see the so called mothers face on the front page of the LMT. No remorse!! And why dont they just out and say the mother was having an affair with the murderer. Why all the hush hush. I hope they both get the death penalty.

The ultimate person responsible for this traggedy is the mother. If she was mature enough to take care of her kids that baby would still be alive, she's as guilty as the young man in this. There are some who have no business having babies!

Government employees are accountable to the citizens of Laredo, LISD UISD the City the county etc. If an aemployee fails in his/her responsability they need to be accountable and prosecuted.

Taco Bell, I agree Laredo's DA could have and should have done more and sooner and not only with this case but with so many others. But do not judge the hispanic race because of one bad apple. We mostly agree that Taco Bell is a racist. But the whole idea of democracy is to put up with "unpopular" speech. Pretty graphic there Kirby :p I do agree, though, the mother to be given a harsh penalty for allowing this to happen, but it's far from an isolated incident. It is just recently, within the past few years, that SOMETHING is being done, but we as citizens STILL have a long haul in front of us.
