Katherine Cardenas' mother pleads Not Guilty in court

Twenty-seven-year old Norma Patricia Olguin is facing 12 counts of child abandonment and one count of sexual assault of a minor.

Olguin entered the court with no expression and plead not guilty to all charges.

Her lawyer asked the judge to reduce the $110 thousand bond.

The motion was denied after a prosecutor argued that Olguin had been hiding out when the US Marshals arrested her last Friday.

Actuallly administrators and school personel are the last to know about student's home environments. The truant officers are the ones going to houses and and report their findings in writing and mostly brief comments. If you want to blame anyone blame all the neighbors and family members that look the other way and the poor system in place for reporting child abuse. And if I was CPS I would start investigating the mom's family!!
