Bleed Martin red? Oh brother, wake up Dorothy you're not in Kansas any more. Laredo is not the once sleepy, isolated comunity you would like to have anymore. Happy days was a TV show. The reality is that we are global with global problems that include but are not limited to violence, drugs, thugs, gangs, and cartels. The few islands of strength are still here and going on to major universities and who will become sucessful contributors to our society. Unfortunately we have those whos aspirations are lacking due to a great many factors including broken homes and schools, and who have little or no guidance from either.

These people deserve the old fashion whooping most of us remember growing up.There were no claims of "child abuse" or crying out lawsuit. We did wrong, we simply paid the consequences. These people think their "bad", but they are nothing less that "llorones". Let's bring back corporal punishment and let the problems disappear.Take note, school board members. There's a problem in this school district; fix it before it gets worse. No discipline, no learning. That's the bottom line.

Let's bring the board back. It worked wonders when I was in school. Kids were more respectful back then because our parents taught well.Nowadays, teachers are the babysitters and they have to put up with all the BS.The school board better get it's "cojones" back so the schools will survive. Learning begins with discipline.Without it, you're asking for problems.

Just throw the kids out on the street, so they can steal more cars and vandalize more property.

Wow, Anonymous. So full of hate towards teachers. You think parents should NOT be blamed at all? Parents are a child's first teachers. Children are what their parents have taught them to be. Based on the abysmal grammar and spelling on your posts, it is obvious why you hate teachers with such a passion. They taught you nothing.

Do away with ISS (in school suspension)bring back real suspensions. There are a few trouble makers that cause all the problems when they mess up send them home I guarantee that after a few times of that the parents will remedy the situation or they are not good parents. If they are caught like in this case with arson let the law handle it.

Whatever the case, in the classroom, on the roof, in the bathroom, or where ever, the point is these kids are out of control brats who need tough love. What happened to the good old days when the paddle was used.

Some parents send their kids to school to get rid of them for a couple of hours, its not so much that they "care for their education" especially these types of kids in particular. And even when they are disciplined at school, instead of the parents cooperating with the teachers, they fight with them. It all starts at home. Kids will only behave and respect people as they were taught by their PARENTS. SO this type of behavior is really the parents fault.

OP, why the hell send children to school then? That parents bothered to send their kids to school means something. Now, that the school lacks any authority means they need new order. I blame the schools. Teachers are so lazy, they favor the students who find work easy. In turn they disregard those who have difficulty with school. "What do we do with those who can't read?" "Well, that's when we find out if they sink or swim." I heard this back in high school. Teachers need to set their priorities straight. Administration should reinforce security, discipline, and action on students, AND teachers. Parents shouldn't be to blame. Not until the previously mention are first.

What we need are parents who discipline their children and teach them how to be normal citizens. Why always blame the schools? Parents have 4-8 chidren at home, schools have 2500 students at at time.

I heard that the kids threw some fireworks to the roof of the science building where some leaves caught fire. And when pri8news got there the were the recipients of some food and milk cartons too. The new principal there list er never had control of the students . Anyone remember the students dancing on desks a few months ago? Reoccuring food fights, daily graffiti. And peeing in the stairwells is the norm at MHS. We need a new principal.
