I agree with bringing back corporal punishment, because apparently the parents aren't disciplining their kids. We used to respect authority. That is not the case anymore. Ever since CP has been removed, kids have just gone wild. Hence the school shootings.

KIDS WOULD THINK TWICE WHAT THEY WOULD DO WHEN COL HEINS WAS IN CHARGE OF DISCIPLINE MHS. SURPRISING ENOUGH PEOPLE LOVED HIM.

Don’t every one bite their tongue. Instead of just putting them down and trying to stereotype everyone because of a couple of block heads. Come up with a positive solution as easy as you make it sound to kick them out. What and send them off to the street to really just commit bigger crimes every day?? The parents really need to step up to their plate and take on their responsibility. That y a lot of people weren’t made to be parents. Like that crazii mommy…..

how bought we just add cameras around the entire school and redirect the security guards to monitor the video (instead of parking lot duty). You could also get truancy officers to help out. If students don't want to go to school, then set a stricter limit and kick those students out. It's just a drain on resources.

I am really ashamed to say I'm from Laredo. Recently some family members came to town and questioned the fact why we don't have a book store. Unfortunately, people respond slowly here and don't take appropriate action early enough. The majority of my family moved out because the lack of good jobs after graduating from college. It seems that most people that leave to study elsewhere never come back, hence the gene pool. Everything starts with education, and with it come morals and values. Maybe its too late.

Thats the reason both school districts hired state certified "police" officers so all of this mayhem won't come out in the media. The media goes to police station every day and go though the report, and print the blotter the same for tv. But since these police answer only to the school districts they can sweep all this under the rug. This is what our tax dollars are buying us and our children. Wow what a bargain. Now don't get me wrong there are alot of real good teachers and administrators and they deserve a pat on the back, but some just dont care.

I would like to know if LISD has investigated these students and checked out weather their really living here in Laredo, Tx or not. The reason for this comment is because a high percentage of these troubled kids are attending local schools here in laredo and living in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Parents come and register their children in public schools put a relatives address and LISD or UISD has them fill out Host forms to verify that they are living at such address and in reality they come and go on a daily basis. These kids come and make trouble here, recruit local kids to be in gangs when in reality there not intrested in learning at all. LISD should sent out school police and go to these address and personally verify if these kids are living here or not. If these kids are making trouble most of the time that means that there not intrested in learning or having the teachers teach them anything what so ever. They should just be expelled or sent out to an alternative school.

Bus the students that WANT 2 LEARN 2 another school, under law if the school ain't performing up to standard the parents have the right 2 move them 2 an acceptable school. Now keep all "waste in Martin" if they fail to maintain grades, disrupt class or even if they breathe the wrong way send them to Alternative school, you say WHAT is wrong with you! Well the students will only have 2 ways out of the situation, GRADUATE or drop out, either way Laredo public knows where they are going! The fault belongs to EVERYONE! IF a parent spanks their kids its child abuse, if the kids don't like the treatment they threaten the parents by calling PD & saying child abuse, LAW TAKES MINORS SIDE EVERY TIME, schools don't take a more proactive stance in education and discipline such as bringing back paddles & CORPORAL punishment EVERY SINGLE TIME it occurs! My teenage son acted up in school ONCE! So i made him crotch down an walk like that all the way to the car, it only happened ONCE!

It's news because I heard that the fight was between the only two seniors under the age of 21. Now I see why I get "THE LOOK" when people ask me what high school I attended.

And this is the result we get? These students could be better utilized as tax dept collectors. They already know the drill. Throw them out of school have have them collect on delinquient taxes.

If a school board member walks into his / her son's school and starts asking detailed questions about school operations. Is he / she a concerned parent or an overly intrusive board member? If a board member openly criticizes a policy his board colleagues have passed but that he / she voted against. Is he / she dutifully representing a constituency that opposed the policy or creating undue strife within the board and the district? If a board member's wife proposes a charter school that would compete in attracting students within the district. Should her husband acknowledge a conflict of interest? These questions are among the thornier ethical issues that can pop up at any time in a school district. For school boards that are unprepared, such issues can be disruptive and divisive, taking energy away from more pressing issues of school governance and operations. "You don't want something to break, especially in ethics, and then find out your ethics policy isn't good enough,"

What ever happened to Boot Camp or the old fashion paddle? Make these low lifes accountable for their actions and their parents, as well.

Kick them out? You do know that there are compulsory education laws districts need to adhere to right? It is not as simple as "kick them out" or even "suspend them" cause they'll come back.

Get ready because it's only going to get worse. These pieces of garbage are what is just left and will be leaving Christen all they go for is to cause problems and take away the learning opportunity for the one's that do want to make something of themselves. Expulsion needs to be a consequence again! But they know there is NO consequences for their actions the Juvenile justice system does't help the schools. This will all continue because the parents of these low-lifes don't parent and want to blame the school or others for the way their little darlings act. I saw first hand for 12 years what these wastes of flesh did at Christen and each year it got worse, don't blame the teachers who have to try to teach kids that want to learn while these delinquents pull fire alarms, set fires, do drugs, write graffiti everywhere in the schools, fight and assault staff members. It's all about the mighty dollar! Good luck to the one's that care! Thank god I'm in a school where kids and parents care!

Now the teachers and administrtion are going through what our children have been for years, with the bullies, gang members and drug addicts. Hopefully they'll do something to protect the children and themselves. If these kids dont want to learn kick them out!!.Both school districts care about the funding they get from the federal government, for every student that attends per day and not about thier safety. Now the shoe is on the other foot and they'r complaining, now lets see what they'll do.
