Police swarm a west Laredo neighborhood overnight in search of an armed man. The investigation and search continues tonight. Our Annette Garcia has our top story. Authorities have still not found the man they say claimed he would engage in a shootout with police. Tonight we have the exclusive footage as police began searching the neighborhood Friday night. Officers began arriving at a home in the 23-hundred block of Madison in west Laredo right after ten last night. Authorities received a call about a man with a handgun, who police say later turned out to be the brother of a woman at that home. According to reports, one of at least three victims said there was a verbal altercation and the suspect appeared under the influence of a substance. Then he allegedly turned the gun on them, claiming if police were called, he would get into a shootout with them. When police arrived, the suspect fled the scene. A DPS helicopter was called in to help with the search. One man, 42 year old Jose Garcia the third was arrested for helping the suspect get away by alerting him that police were coming. The main suspect has not been caught but faces charges on assault and two counts of aggravated assault. We did speak with several residents in the area who say they awoke to the bright lights of the helicopter, canvassing the area as well as the beams of police flashlights. Some did tell us that there have been some disturbances at the home before and tonight they're hoping police catch the man responsible for last night's panic very soon.
