Downtown to get a fresh face renovation

By KGNS News

Several downtown buildings should soon have a fresh face.

An architect with the Texas Historical Commission is visiting Laredo and looking at six different buildings downtown.

His goal is to give property owners a glimpse of what the buildings could look like, while also preserving their original structure.

“I think when we're looking at improving buildings, sometimes we paint and stucco and change the look and lose whatever integrity of the area there is but with this program we’re able to guide them in preserving what history we have.”

The property owners are willingly participating in the Texas Main Street Program and plan on using the designs and recreating the storefronts.

Maybe things will change once we vote Salinas out of office. He is abusing taxpayers monies by taking to many unneccesary trips. He could do better by video-conferences.I dont think anybody really needs him in Washington,or even want him out there? Is anyone from Washington calling on the Mayor asking for him?
