Hamilton Senior Citizen Home heats up

No Air Condition, Little Water

By KGNS News

TEMPERATURES TODAY SOARED HIGH HITTING ALMOST 100 DEGREES...
BUT IN THIS HAMILITON SENIOR CITIZEN HOME IT MAY FEEL EVEN HOTTER.

This resident says, "I dont have air or water the apartment is hot."

THE ELEDERLY PEOPLE HERE ARE STANDING OUTSIDE AFTER A PLUMBING PROBLEM CAUSED THERE WATER AND AIRCONDTION TO BE SHUT OFF.

A PROBLEM THEYRE TOLD SHOULD BE FIXED SOON.
BUT THEYRE STILL ANGRY.
"Nobody notified us."

THIS 69 YEAR OLD WOMAN SAYS SHE AND HER NEIGHBORS DIDNT PREPARE FOR THIS AND NO ONE HAS REALLY BEEN TOLD WHATS GOING ON.

AND WHAT ANGERS HER MORE IS THAT SHE CLAIMS THE BAD LIVING CONDITONS HERE ARE REOCCURING AND ONLY GETTING WORSE.

I'm not living for free I pay 513 a month you know how much I get 643 I think we deserve a better place to live."

SHE SAYS THERE ARE PEOPLE HERE WHO ARE OLDER THAN SHE IS IN NEED OF BETTER PLACE TO LIVE.

"There are people here who are 80 years old who are blind and cant walk and still they dont do nothing," the woman said.

ANOTHER FEMALE RESIDENT IN A WHEEL CHAIR WAS JUST RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL,
THE 70 YEAR OLD RETURNED HOME TO NO AIR OR WATER AND SAYS SHE ONLY FEELS WORSE.

"How do your feet feel? They're swolen look they are all red. Do they hurt? Yes."

AND WHILE MANAGEMENT HERE CLAIMS THE PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED SOON..
HAMILTON HOME RESIDENTS ARE STILL SCARED.

"You eyes were tearing up why we are like babies like kids you protect us you should help us."

NOW THE RESIDENTS AT THE HAMILTON HAD MORE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE BUILDING SAYING THESE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT A COUPLE OF YEARS.

THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW US INSIDE THE BUIDLING FEARING THEY MAY BE KICKED OUT IF THEY LET OUR CAMERAS IN..SINCE THE BUILDING IS PRIVATE PROPERTY.

MEANWHILE WE CALLED HAMILTONS MANAGEMENT AND THEY DECIDED NOT TO COMMENT ON THE SITUATION.

This is where the mayor and the county should take a look at. This people deserve a better place to live at. Instead of wasting money and time on restoring the golf course, they should restore a new place for this elderly people, $513.00 monthly could payoff a better place for them.

I had a decent apartment on Gallagher and Canal behind HEB mercado for $450/mo. (water paid) Electric was around $80 at 70F. They will fumigate for you, and fix appliances for you, with no additional cost. A lot of senior residents live there. They have one bedrooms as well.
