Ten men arrested in prostitution sting

By KGNS News

Ten men are the latest to be arrested for soliciting prostitution, after falling victim to the lure of undercover police officers.
The Laredo Police Departments narcotics vice unit along with the patrol division set up the sting on San Bernardo in west Laredo.
Through ‘Operation John’ officers identified and arrested the ten men after they agreed to pay money for sex.
All are being charged with prostitution, a class B misdemeanor and were taken to the Webb County Jail.

It's been a while since the arrests of "professionals" and "clients" have been publicized. I just want to know how many convictions has the DA gotten? An arrest is one thing, but convictions might be a better way to gauge how effective these stings are.

They should have these men and women stand in the spot along San Bernardo where they committed the crime with a sign that says, "Arrested for Prostitution". That should be more of a deterrent than their names on TV.

I am totally against any type of crime, but what upsets me the most is how the media is selective about putting names of people who have committed offenses. If they are important, political or well-known people, their names are not printed in the paper and their names are not mentioned on t.v. If ANYONE commits a crime, whether on-going or not; ALL NAMES SHOULD BE MENTIONED. Stop protecting influential, political or any type of people. Their faces should be put on t.v. or the newspaper. Treat everyone equal and plaster all the offenders faces. Stop being selective and do you job.

I guess the DA finds it easier to go after "johns" than to go after the drug dealers that hang out at Coyote Creek and other Laredo night spots.

Why would he go after these guys? That means he would have to argue against Lawyers that didn't go to State Schools. Just like everything in Laredo, it cannot compete with the rest of the World, because education and the professionals we elect do not stack up to the stanards everyone else in America takes for granted.

If the DA goes after those dealers then he and Raulito would have to also conceed that the cartels has spilled over or that they use Laredo as a hide out.
