The Texas Migrant Council and local law enforcement once again teamed up to help protect our children--this time, enforcing car seats. Dozens of car seats were inspected early today, giving parents a chance to learn how to properly install them. Parents were also made aware of whether or not their car seats have ever been recalled. This comes days before a new child booster seat law is set to take effect. It requires that a child younger than 8 years old be secured in a child passenger safety seat unless the child is taller than 4 feet, 9 inches. Over 90 car seats were inspected by the program last year.
