Sex offender busted in Nuevo Laredo, not extradited to US

A violent sex offender is now in the custody of Mexican federal law enforcement in Mexico City.

Dallas authorities say Nuevo Laredo police detained 36-year old Gabriel Estrada but they refused to extradite him to the US.

Estrada was wanted for allegedly sexually abusing a girl so severely she required surgery.

He recently served seven years in jail for sexual abuse in 2002, afterwards, he fled to Mexico, and now claims he is a Mexican citizen.

Estrada is currently in police custody in Mexico City.
