Roadside Pet Vendors Beware: New Ordinance Now Requires Permit

By KGNS News

Commercial pet vendors will now need a permit to sell animals. Selling pets on the side of the road is absolutely illegal and anyone doing so will now face stricter penalties. City health officials say anyone who wants to sell puppies or kittens can apply for a litter permit, which will only cost 15 dollars. But expect a home inspection assuring that the animals are being kept in a safe environment. For more information on the ordinance call (956) 795-4902 or you can log on to the City of Laredo's Health Department website.

If the city really wants to make money from the sides of the roads they should start by ticketing all the "smart" so called entrepreneurs that feel it is their right to go and plant their awful and intrusive advertising displays which are all over the city corners, entrances to schools and just about any stoplight or anywhere they please (its free advertising anyway, they are smart!). Party buses galore, mattresses, nails and politicians. City looks cheap and messy. Is there no ordinance on that? I want to see Laredo beautiful if possible...not an eyesore.
