CrimeStoppers taking tips via text

The Texas Department of Public Safety is releasing new ways to submit tips for Texas' most wanted fugitives.

In addition to the crime stoppers phone line, concerned citizens can submit tips by text or through the DPS website.

Officials say both methods maintain the anonymity of the person giving the information.

The number to text DPS or CrimeStoppers a tip is 274637.

You can also submit tips at txdps.state.tx.
