Laredo firefighter indicted on assault charge

A Laredo firefighter has been indicted by a grand jury for assault causing bodily injury.
The charges stem from an incident involving 33 year old Laredo firefighter Marcos Gomez and his spouse.
The incident took place on April 24th, when according to the DA's office, a female relative of the couple reported an assault had just taken place at the resident on Kingwood drive.
Gomez has temporarily been suspended from the Laredo Fire Department without pay or benefits.
A spokesperson for the department says no further action will be taken at this time, pending the outcome of the case.
