Five pounds of pure black tar heroin seized

By KGNS News

Along the border, a bust of a couple pounds of any drug is not unusual.

However, if the drug is pure black tar heroin, it still raises a few eyebrows.

This is what roughly five pounds of black tar heroin looks like.

Webb County Sheriff's Deputies, along with Precinct One constables, and ICE began an investigation that led them to the contraband in the 4200 block of Valencia Street.

The heroin has a street value of $200,000.

Along with the drug officers also seized several 12-gauge shotgun, one assault rifle and about $9,000 in cash.

Four men were detained and turned over to federal authorities.
