Sheriff's department gets new contract

By KGNS News

The new Sheriff's Department contract is approved and signed in a ceremony this morning.
The Webb County Judge and representatives from the Sheriff's Department were on hand for the signing of the contract.
The collective bargaining agreement has been under negotiation for over a year now.
Commissioners finally approved it Monday at their meeting.
The starting salary for a new deputy will now be around forty thousand a year.
The deputies will not see a pay raise this year due to the County budget short fall, but are guaranteed a raise in the next two years.
