Imaging technology introduced at Laredo International Airport

By KGNS News

The Laredo International Airport received the first advanced imaging technology to screen passengers.

Transportation Security Administration demonstrated the one-of-a-kind machine.

It safely screens passengers for metallic and non-metallic threats, as well as explosives, without physical contact.

The TSA has ensured strict privacy protections are in place and that passengers have the option to go through the metal detector and a pat-down by a TSA officer.

Imaging machines will be introduced to airports across the United States.

I would rather see the airport do something about the "jet noise" at all hours! I live close by and has gotten worse!

Laredo is not likely to be attacked by terrorists ever. why not use the money to get more ambulances closer to colonias, so tragedies like the one that happened with the little boy will never happen again.

It all depends on what you catagorize as a terrorist, There are so many deferent kinds. As for the tragedy with the little boy, unfortionately its the responsability of the city and/or county they live in and not Laredo. Seems like the mayor of El Cenizo should start spending more money on services for his city rather than on himself.

I dont think a closer ambulance station would have saved the child. I think lack of parental supervision was to blame there.

A lot of people here are so dense. The city didn't pay for that piece of equipment, the government did! So saying that the money should have been spent on ambulances is just stupid. And because Laredo would be thought as a low risk for an attack, don't you think that maybe it could be used as an entry point to attack larger airports? Its sad that uneducated or uniformed people get to voice their dumb opinions.

I think its great our airport has moved out of the stone age and into the present. We shouldnt let our guard down. There are still alot of crazy people out there who want to do harm to the USA.
