El Metro employees want answers about money taken for insurance

By KGNS News

Several El Metro employees want some answers after they say an insurance company has been taking money out of their paychecks even tough their policy was expired.

That was a heated topic at last night's City Council meeting.

A heated issue brought up by City Representative Michael Landek.

Chill out "I can't believe", are you going postal on me? El metro IS First Transit, NOT the City. Besides, don't these people look at their paychecks? Why did they wait so long to fuss about it. Don't they pay attention to their paycheck, get real!

It was embarrassing clearly staged and rehearsed with the city manager as the puppet master. Councilman Rendon , Titi Garcia what has happened to your integrity. Is eating for free at the posada all that important. Find your balance. You were not always like this.

So thats it! You pro 8 news your not taking journalism to the next level. If the city says it was a misunderstanding you believe them. So if they tell you pro8 jump you jump. Thats why laredo is the way it is because nothing ever gets done. And to you Lee the fuss is about people were charged for an insurance was canceled by el metro not by first transit. and they were never informed but what would you care. Obviously....

El Metro employees are NOT City employees! So what is all this fuss about? First Transit needs to deal with these people, NOT the City. Come on less than pro8 news, you should inform your public! That's what you should be all about!

To my understanding Feliciano Garcia is the one that runs the metro. He use to be rio bravos mayor and left them in the red. Investigate Pro 8 news and you will find out. He needs votes from city council to keep his job. Understand the hiding now......

Feliciano Garcia is part of something in city council thanks to Mike Garza and the mayor of laredo thats why thy want to cover up what is going on to these employees. How would the whole city council like for the city to charge them for an insurance that is not active. I feel sorry for these employees that are being robbed. Come on laredo these is just politics!!!!!!!!!!!!

At a public hearing anyone can say what they want. the City cannot interfer with the comments nor can they restrict the comments. Its called freedom of speech. Even if there is an investigation going on, dening the people to speak is a violation of law and the cities own policy.
