By KGNS News

Hurricane season is upon us, and already the Texas State Guard is making sure they are ready. Today, they tested their radio communications with Ham Radio Personnel in Laredo. The State Guard is the liaison between civilian an local emergency personnel in case of a natural disaster. "Our newest mission is the "What A", white area assessment. We go out and we assess the damage that's caused by a natural disaster," says Alfredo Rendon, Texas State Guard. At this moment, they are on stand-by to see if tropical storm Alex turns into a hurricane and heads towards South Texas.
