The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and Laredo Police conduct an underage drinking sweep overnight. Their targets were several local bars and clubs, and in the end, two people were arrested and one club was cited for a major violation. Laredo Police, along with T.A.B.C. officers hit up several places, checking for permits and possible violations of any state laws--and they found a few. The first, was over at Wet Lounge in the 600 block of Calton. One person was arrested for selling alcohol to minors. The next violation happened at Club Reve, located off Jacaman Road and Rosson Lane. Officers made at least one arrest there too, after finding the club was selling alcohol to minors. T.A.B.C. officers also found another local club in violation of another law where the party seemed to continue later than it should have. Karma Lounge on McPherson was cited for allowing the consumption of alcohol after prohibited hours. Authorities say they will continue randomly checking for other violations throughout Laredo.

Este el sentimiento en los clubs y las barras de Laredo "this is Laredo...we don't need rules, we will serve who we want and when we want" lo que cuenta es el dinero.

Actually, they are competing with the Nuevo Laredo bars that DO sell to minors.

More accidents waiting to happen if one does because of the establishment they can be sued. I hope the extra money made will be worth the risk not to mention jail time and fines.

hey 'el mexicano': you do know that nuevo laredo is part of another country. so, it's okay for them to be a "monkey see, monkey do' type of business no matter the law?

In mid 2005 to 2010 (around the time Nuevo Laredo began to erupt with violence and cartels) Laredo began to see a surge in these bars spawn everywhere throughout the north side. McPherson is now a strip for drunks on late-weekend nights who end up causing nothing but trouble after the bar closing time. Not to mention the parking lots and other areas where the parties keep goin. I remember in the 1980s-1990's you could easily make your way across the river and go to the same type of bars and not have to even be of age or get carded...I think that when you add come-and-go bar/club businesses desperate for money in harsh economic times with a little bit of customer desperation for fun (because they can't think of better things to do on weekends) add a little alcohol, some drinkers with criminal records, and you have the elements of the same kind of violence that pervades this region over and over again. In Lubbock they don't have as much crime because of dry law, whattya say city council?

its not only bars its also game rooms its time to look at them too. 9 out of 10 bars in laredo sell to minors why are they even allowed inside a bar?

I was at club revo a couple of weekends ago, and found myself feeling so OLD and out of place there (I'm only 30)! I literally audibly questioned whether or not some of the patrons in there were even of drinking age... Go figure. I guess they weren't.

The thing is that the bar owners did not pay cops,or the D.A.'s office their due's so just like the maquinitas they get busted or shut down.Only the ones that pay up stay open. Que esperas de Laredo!
