Accused car burglar arrested for assaulting officer

A man is arrested after assaulting a police officer.

According to police, an officer was dispatched to a car burglary in the 500 block of Fenwick.

The officer searched the area and was able to locate the 18-year-old suspect, Manuel Garfias.

A struggle ensued and Garfias resisted.

Garfias allegedly cut the officer with a key.

The officer was able to detain Garfias who was arrested for aggravated assault against a public servant.
