Border Patrol Agent Behind Bars

Charged with Burglary

By KGNS News

Ramiro Hernandez, 23,  was arrested last night for burglary of habitation at 3100 block of Homer Drive. Police say they received a notification from the home's security system alerting that there had been an unauthorized entry. Reports add that when police arrived to the scene, they found the front door opened by force and the suspect inside. When confronted by police, Hernandez claimed to be the homeowners' friend, but they tell us they did not buy the story. Hernandez was arrested and taken to Webb County Jail where he's being held on no bond. Hernandez was off duty at the time of the incident. As for the homeowners, police say they are currently out of town, but have been notified.

Here we go again. Whether it was an honest mistake or a crime, the fact is, it was an unathorized entry. So, I am sure this individual has relatives in Laredo, just like the other one. I know many individuals will get their feelings hurt, for the direct comments that are said. Yet, no matter what the reason, a crime is a crime. Blue collar or white collar. It makes me wonder, what would make this individual want to break into a private residence? Hopefully, the bad apples will start to fade away, and work in a different field. Good job Laredo PD.

I am so glad that only Federal employees every break the law in Laredo. This must be the case since that is all that every gets posted. Do you mean to tell me that this is the only person to be arrested for buglary in Webb County? Funny how only when it is a Federal employee does it make the news so quickly. I by no means am condoning the action taken by this man, but if you are going to report crime, report it all and not only that which is good for headlines.

To concern citizen we all make mistakes. But since these two incidents were done by law enforcement agents it makes the headlines news and to embarrass the agency. If you read the newspaper incidents like this are always happening but don't make the news cause it doesn't make ratings and they are done by your common criminal. Why donesn't the news show when these agents are risking their lives and protecting our border so people like you can post stupid comments.Remember these agents were off duty not when they were working. So they are going to pay the consequences cause they made bad judgement but that doesn't make them bad people or bad agents. I drive a harley does that make me a gang member. At one point we all have driven drunk but we have not been caught. So stop it with your bs comments that your the only honest person in Laredo.

But on the other hand, if it wasn't reported and we found out through another way we would yell cover-up.The fact is while there are many many outsanding public servants out there, that we owe a huge THANK-YOU to, there are some obnotious few that think they ARE the law. This helps to keep them in check.

Everyday i see local media cover crimes that happen at the local level. Whether by your average ciizen, local officials,etc.. No one is except from public information. Once you are arrested it becomes public information. If you don't want to come out on the front page of your local newspaper or on tv, don't break the law plain and simple.
