It's our top story at ten.
This is the video of the accident that happened Friday on Loop 20 by Laredo's International Airport.
That's where a three car collision occurred causing Omar Sebastian Cardenas to be ejected from the vehicle.
Paramedics flew him by helicopter to a San Antonio Hospital. However police confirm he died early this morning.
A family friend provided us with a photo of little Omar and tells us he was just a third grader at Alicia Ruiz Elementary School
They tell us his parents have decided to donate his organs to help seven children in need of transplants.
His mother saying while she is deeply saddened by her sons death. He will continue to live through his anatomical donation to those children.
They're hoping the public can find it in there hearts to help with little Omar's funeral.

All this talk about not having seatbelts on our kids when make me think. "Do you really think that seatbalts are always going to save your life? Well NO" I know its better safe then sorry but how in the world could you just say something as plain and simple when in fact like I said you cant always save a beings life just for using a seatbelt. Esta gente esta tan pendeja.... "en paz denscanse angelito omarsito"

No charges filed against the parents? Child endangerment? People go to jail here for not feeding their dog or fighting chickens, and we'll lynch you for talking bad about Laredo, but endangering your child's life by not securing them in the vehicle is ok. Upside down town in an upside down country.

How sad. I always make sure my kids have their seat belts on before I drive off. And then I drive around the city and every other car has kids jumping around from the front seat to the back seat like they were in a jungle jim. And then I see babies sitting on the laps of their parents and toddlers who are sticking their head out the windows like the little pig from that geico commercial. And all this in plain view of the police car that is right next to tthem but dont do anything. It was an accident, but the outcome sould have been less severe if only he had a seatbelt on. And still even with this trajedy, parents still wont learn from this.

All that was necessary was a seatbelt for the 9-yr-old.

Was it the Lake or the airport? Either way, a light is needed at both sites.

We have traffic lights for both Lake Side entrances to wealthly neighborhoods but for Lake Casa Blanca we have none. Do we need to see another fatality to have a traffic light. We have so many families that visit the park on holidays and weekends. Laredo make an effort to put a traffic light and not a blinking light at the parks entrance. Our children are not rich but they are our future.
