1st try didn't go through so here I go again. Was trying to say that I'm with cg on this one. Kids do get more days off; Thanksgiving and Easter holidays, for example, are longer now. And let's not forget all those "in-service days". Then we whine when kids can't pass state exams that many of us had to deal with too back in the day, without as much whining!

You guys sound like a bunch of kids in a class argueing back and forth about who started "it". Especially you cg! Complaining that you didn't have as many hollidays as kids these days. Go cry to your mammy!!

Why is it hurtful. It is the truth. I care about my child's education and their future. Personally I think the kids get too many days off. When I was in school we were off spring break, christmas and summer y ya. But now every freakin "holiday" ia a day off. My kids will only miss school unless it is truely nessesary. Your ridiculous mentality "aye pobresito mijito/a she/hes tired ok you dont have to go to school" is ridiculous and is the reason why this country, this world is going to sh**!

Hi, Anon. Nice job defending yourself. You're still a lousy parent, though.

Quit picking on Anon, looks like your parents passed on the type of "feel free to tell people what you really think, whether it be hurtful or not" mentality to you!!! Shame on your parents and on YOU!!!

Isn't President's day just as, if not more important, than MLK day, yet the schools remain open then.

Anon, your an idiot. It's just a shame that you are passing on that type of mentality to your children.

School is where they should be learning about what the day means! When they get the day off they don't care about what it's for.
