Federal agents remain tight lipped tonight about the shooting of a civilian in Laredo's west side.
It happened early this afternoon at Killam Industrial Park where investigators combed the scene for hours.
It's our top story tonight.
A helicopter circled the crime scene hours after the shooting happened at around 2 P.M. in this warehouse area off of Mines Road.
While law enforcement is not saying much a mini van remained wrapped in crime scene tape in front of a business there, as well as the warehouse fence.
At this point details are vague but what officials have told us is that a federal agent possibly an agent from the Drug Enforcement Administration shot a civilian there.
It's unclear if that victim is a suspect if he was armed or if there were drugs involved.
Paramedics say he was transported to Laredo Medical Center.
Pro8news is still awaiting word from DEA officials but they have not returned our calls as of yet.

Another typical 1/2 story from our good neighbor station, "law enforcement not saying much" ask some questions, feds > wrap your tight lips around this.

A civilian is a person who is not a member of his or her country's armed forces or other militia (not sure this has been confirmed) From what I see, federal agents don't go around shooting civilians. I see the scum these guys are taking off our street. Sleep tight Laredo, your federal agents have your back.

Suspect makes it seem like he did something wrong...they say they don't know that now. but I do agree civilian isn't the proper word

I agree with Juan. He was a "suspect", not a "completely innocent" civilian as it was portrayed.

"Federal Agent shoots a civilian",, I don't understand the caption>>> why not,, LEO shoots suspect? or replace LEO with Agent>>> if you don't know if he was a bad or good guy, you call him a suspect.. That means, "to be determined".
