The woman accused of scamming people by not delivering furniture they paid for was in court today. Aside from the citation Collezione Decor received for deceptive trade practices its owner Elsa Slayne is facing felony charges for the alleged scam. But her attorney has filed a motion for a gag order on everything related to that case. Our Annette Garcia was there and has more.
Emotions running high after a hearing ended with no decision Thursday. The woman many say took their money but never delivered the furniture they paid for in court with her attorney asking for a gag order on her case hoping to salvage her business.
Marcel Notzon \ Attorney For Elsa Slaney
This is something that the attorney general initially caused all the pretrial publicity. They admitted that they sent a news publication and has caused a media frenzy in regards to this case and unfortunately has compounded the situation and has affected more people out there because she cannot do business.
The motion asks that the judge restricts the media from everything from reporting details obtained by the court to photographing Elsa Slaney during proceedings or while being transported to the court room or allowing anyone connected to the case from speaking to the media. Elsa Slaney of Collezione Decor is facing felony theft charges for allegedly scamming her customers. The business has been cited by the Texas Attorney General for deceptive trade practices and her attorney says the quote 'Media Frenzy' created from it is enough attention.

Elsa Slaynes attorney says the bottom line is that he wants to make sure his client has a fair trial
When you have excessive publicity is affects your right to a fair trial.
As for those who say they are victims of Slaney's alleged scheme Notzon says everything that can be done to get furniture delivered and money refunded is being done as quickly as possible.
Right now everything has tho go through judge Ender any type of payments has to go through judge ender any furniture we have that has to be delivered it has to be approved by the attorney general and judge Ender so that has delayed a lot of people that has furniture ready that she has not been able to operate for 30 days

Notzon says it wont be until at least October that delivery of that furniture be scheduled. The motion for a gag order was not granted today. Because of conflicts of schedules the hearing has been reset for October 12th at 1-30 P.M.

And so the saga begins. Just not on the television, radio, newspaper telepathy or the pony express. Let’s make sure that this woman gets a fair trial and then we will send her to prison where she belongs. Just don’t talk to your friends about or a mistrial will be declared.

It's a joke Fair trial, did she treat the people fairly and returned their money. If she can afford an expensive attorney, she is using the customers' money. Hope they take in where she belongs. And now her sister is the same as her. What we should do is not buy from any of them.

Ok first this woman needs her a** sent to jail. She is just one of thousands that live in our city that take advantage of people. Second, why is there not a blog on the girl who drowned while "swimming" in the Rio Grande. And who in their right mind would swim in that filthy river. The story the family is saying does not make any sense at all. She was probably trying to cross illegally and drowned as a result. And now they want to blame BP. sounds like they are trying to get some money out of their daughters tragic yet avoidable death.

Your right Anon, it’s all about the money. If BP had been around they would have saved her. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time doing something she wasn’t supposed to be doing. The ones she was with, who are probably responsible for this travesty, heard the BP boat and thought, "Sabes que, le ponemos la migra cupable. Ellos tiene un chin*o de lana. Hummm” Todos valen mother!
