Deputy arrested at drug bust

By KGNS News

A Webb County Sheriff's Deputy is arrested Monday night, along with his son, after police find heroin inside their home.

Laredo police went to serve a warrant on Nelson Jasso Vela, at an apartment near Loring and Guadalupe.

When they arrived at the residence, the officers saw heroin in plain sight.

The father of the suspect, Deputy Celerino Vela, was home at the time.

A search warrant was secured and a drug dog was brought in to search the residence.

Police found several more doses of heroin inside the apartment; the deputy and the son were arrested on drug charges.

LPD says the investigation has been going on for several months, and was a joint effort with the Webb County Sheriff's Department.

GEO and CCA are private contractors’ not sworn officers or elected officials. This "bring in the Army" stuff isn't going to work either. It did not work in Mexico and since Laredo thrives on it’s long standing tradition of emulating Mexico, as that of yesteryear, this cr@p will continue. Minds and attitudes must change before this alleged corruption will end for the greater good. As long as money is the primary driving force propelling these individuals, corruption will prevail. There was a man that ran for county judge last election and should have won. I still believe that is where change for the greater good will begin. Hopefully he will run again.

If they sent the National Guard, they can bring the U.S. Army. but now they can jail legal aliens instead of illegal aliens.

How many Laredo Texas and webb county cops are scorting the loads ?? how many judges are on the cartels payroll, how many city and county employees are getting paid extra money to provide information, how many weapons are crossing to Mexico feeding the cartels? Well just to think about it. welcome to reality. proof ?? is on the news, how about the things that are not made public ? I welcome the American Army.
