Employees with the Border Patrol take their kids to work

By KGNS News

Lots of Laredo children went to work with their parents Friday morning as part of this year's Take Our Daughters And Sons to Work Day.

Border Patrol took part in the nationally recognized program by swearing in 51 kids and giving them a chance to explore out in the field and back at the office. This year's theme is "invent the future."

Border Patrol officials say they just want the kids to get an inside look at what happens behind the scenes.

An estimated 35 million people participate in "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" at over 3 million workplaces each year.
