First Allegiant Air Flight To Orlando

By KGNS News

It was a party fit for Mickey and Minnie Mouse at the Laredo International Airport.

Allegiant Air's first nonstop flight to Orlando, Florida took off at 7 p-m tonight.

The convention and visitors bureau had a tropical scene set up for families to take pictures with and gave away tote bags to everyone on the maiden voyage.

The allure of no layovers was enough to bring many families out to travel.

"We wanted to do the trip and be the first ones out of here."

An official with the airport says the flight was not sold out, but that the airline has been very impressed with sales numbers from Laredo to Orlando.

The flight from Orland to Laredo was another "maiden voyage" last night. That flight came in at 6:30 from Orlando...nonstop.
