Flooding on the Rio Grande is not only drawing interest from Laredoans, but also from various news agencies around Texas and the country.
Among the crews covering the river is none other than The Weather Channel's meteorologist Mike Seidel.
Seidel and his crew have been broadcasting live the past couple of days from a ramp near Bridge Two.
Seidel says after hurricane Alex, he and others began monitoring river gauges and preparing for the potential story of rising water in the Rio Grande.
He says the flood is something of news worthiness because the river crest is the highest in 45 years and the highest on record.
Seidel adds both the City of Laredo and Nuevo laredo were helpful in giving them up-close access to the raging river.
