Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is in town tonight also joining in on the WBCA festivities.
Our cameras caught up with her just a short while ago and asked her about a hot topic that is causing much controversy in Capital Hill.
Tonight she says she is supporting President Barack Obama's proposal on birth control.
"I'm a mother, I'm Catholic. I've 5 children and I think that women's health is important to support him in that way"
This is Nancy Pelosi's fourth formal visit to Laredo. Tonight she is attending several celebration events.

My comment is to the laredo morning times, that put the racher of the year on the front page holding a beer and the lady next to him textig....!! wow! how times have changed!

Three republican presidents have visited Laredo while in the white house. Can anybody name at least three democrats doing the same while being a sitting president? Thank you.

The only reason any politician would visit Laredo is to look for campaign contributions. The progressives already count on many votes from here based on the number of government employees and those receiving assistance.
