Free Taxi Service on Super Bowl Sunday

By KGNS News

"For the second straight year, we're sponsoring the designated driver initiative on super bowl sunday."
The super bowl is a time for people to enjoy friends, food and football. Often people decide to have a little too much fun while celebrating and aren't in a condition to get behind the wheel. That's why District Attorney Isidro Alaniz is asking for help from international taxis.
"Cab drivers are donating their time to ensure residents get home safely after enjoy a night of watching the super bowl."
"Be responsible. If you don't have a designated driver there's no excuse."
"We see many cases, many tragedies come through this office of DWI's. It's someone never intending to hurt anybody but being negligent."
In addition to teaming up with the international taxi company, over 30 local restaurants and bars are also participating in the designated driver initiative including Rumors Country Bar and Patio.
"We just want everybody to worry about the game and not driving home. We'll take care of that for you."
Romanos urges anyone planning to watch the game at local establishments to take full advantage of the designated driver initiative program so they won't end up in jail.
"It's free. You can pick up your car the next day. It's better than getting a DWI God forbid."
The designated driver initiative will only be in effect this sunday from 8 p.m until 12 a.m.

Hope all the borracho judges and city leaders will give the roadways a break and call for a cab. Set the example for a change.
