Grenade Scare

By KGNS News

A man is accused of launching what at first appeared to be a grenade on one of our local highways. And now he finds himself in deep trouble behind bars. Were told twenty-three year old Matthew Anaya parked his car at a hydraulics shop at the 2800 block of Santa Ursula and Frankfork. That's where he reportedly got out of his vehicle and threw what at first people thought was a grenade onto Highway 35. But as it turns out it was a smoke bomb. Our camera's got a glimpse of the actual bomb he allegedly threw, very similar to a grenade. The incident gave passerbys quite a scare who ended up calling police. Police arrested Anaya who they say was trying to hide at that local shop when they arrived. It's unclear as of now what his charges are, however he has been detained at Webb County Jail.
