Group "Anonymous" demands member be released

By KGNS News

An Internet video is threatening Mexico's Zetas drug cartel with exposure of its allies in the police and news media unless the gang frees a kidnapped member of the international hacker movement known as "Anonymous."

The statement is presented in the name of Anonymous by someone
wearing a mask, but there is no way to authenticate the message's
origin.

The statement refers to an abduction in the coastal city of
Veracruz without identifying the victim. It then threatens to
release names, photos and property of Zetas' allies in the area on
Nov. 5 if the kidnapped activist is not freed or is harmed.

The video appears to have been posted in early October. It was
first reported Friday by the global intelligence think tank
Stratfor.
