Gun-Wielding Carjacker Arrested

By KGNS News

A shopping center in town known for its high number of car burglaries, becomes the scene of a car jacking at gun point. Quick action by the Laredo Police Department leads to the arrest of the alleged thief.
The victim says 17-year-old Victor Hugo Valadez, and another person, approached him around 10 PM Thursday night near the Walmart parking lot in the 5500 block of San Bernardo. That's when authorities say Valadez and the other suspect pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his vehicle, wallet and cell phone.
Soon after police received word of the car jacking, they issued a look out alert for the stolen Chevy Silverado. Luckily, Laredo police officers working a special assignment near the bridge spotted the pick up truck. They say, when they approached Valadez he seemed nervous and soon after running the license plates they discovered it was indeed the vehicle they were searching for.
We're told more arrests are pending. Valadez faces charges for aggravated robbery.
