Close to one thousand participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research foundation walk at TAMIU even those adults teens and children living with juvenile diabetes.
Organizers say Laredoans never fail to show their desire to help worthy causes in the community.
Event organizer Leticia Garcia was on hand and said, “We create a lot of awareness with our families here in Laredo that have type one and we're trying to get more and more people involved with juvenile diabetes research we all can come together and create awareness."
It is said that diabetes afflicts one point seven million children and adults in Texas alone. Funds raised from sponsorship and attendees of the annual walk will go towards research to find a cure.
