Jaime Zapata Honored with Street Name

Over 200 people witness some monumental changes going on in our neighboring town of Falcon, Texas all for a local hero.
That's where an unveiling took place to rename a street after fallen ice agent Jaime Zapata.
It's been a little over year since he was ambushed and shot down in Mexico by members of the Zetas.
Zapata grew up in the Falcon area and people say his efforts to fight cartel crime will never be forgotten.
A monument was also unveiled with Zapata's name and image to be placed near Highway 83 for public viewing.
Government agents and officials, including representative Ryan Guillen attended the ceremony.

Of course I know about the stuff going on with the BHO people and FAST AND FURIOUS. My point is that this wasn't Obama fault. He probably didn't even personally approve these operations. The 50 year old drug war and the funds for both sides (good and bad sides, if you will) are American made. The illegal funneling of arms through fast and furious is just but a little bit of what mountains of money can buy. Still the cartels are funded buy American drug users. On the other side is the US government trying, senslessly since it hasn't worked in over 50 years, to curb through interdiction, prosecution and incarceration the drug appetite of Americans

How about,,, let's blame the assassin(s) behind the trigger. Let the people name a street after him... Let the people name 100 or even a 1000 streets after him. He is a hero!!! Oh and by the way uuggh, you are my hero... NOT!!!

They make events raising money in his name i dont understand for what!! A street a monument? WTH!! wats next? A museum?? Wat makes him a hero? How can any sane person blame Obama? This gentleman was a war casualty. He was involved in the front line of the drug war being waged against America's.insatiable drug consumption habit. That's who he lost his life fighting. His name has been added to the 50,000 other casualties of this senseless lost cause. Con Dios descansen todos.

Another story with Jamie Zapata please let him rest in peace yes is was killed by Mexican cartels. We know but come on pro8news you guys have nothing else better to. You guys are acting like this Jamie Zapata was a famous celebrity let him rest. It just seams that every street name you want to add him name on or building. What about all those that lost their life's serving our country they call need street names also. Jamie Zapata may you R.I.P
