We start off our newscast with news out of our sister city.. That’s where the body of a decapitated woman is found with a message saying she was killed for her publications on an online social network. We want to warn our viewers that the following image may be too strong for some, especially young children. Mexican reports say the body was found on the intersection of Paseo Colon and Leandro Valle. The victim identified as Marisol Macias Castañeda, an employee of Primera Hora, a Nuevo Laredo newspaper. A message was left at that scene saying she was killed for writing on the web page Nuevo Laredo En Vivo, where she was known as "La Nena De Laredo". There are reportedly websites where citizens report violence under anonymous names. Two other victims were found hanging by a bridge earlier this month with a similar message.
