Laredo Attorney Pleads Guilty on Charges of Racketeering

By KGNS News

A Laredo attorney and son of former judge Andy Ramos has pled guilty to charges of racketeering. Alonzo Ramos pled guilty to one count of racketeering in a Dallas courtroom earlier this week. He has not been sentenced yet, but terms of the agreement say he will see no more than a maximum of five years in prison. His plea was heard in the Northern District of Texas court despite the charges originating here in Laredo.

andres ramos is my Godfather; which makes alonzo a Godbrother. i am certain there is more to this story than meets the eye. for example: how do you know the zetas didn't threaten him or his family before he broke the law helping them? you don't!!! so all of you reveling in the downfall of another laredoan should exmaine your own behavior.

And we want Laredo to be a better city...sure...with mediocre frauds (what we call attorneys nowadays) like Ramos...yeah, we're just trashing the city even more than it already has been. :'(

He didn't want LT to talk about what? Was it influence peddling on where drug related inmates were being housed through his brother?

Wasn't Casa Blanca lake turned over to the state during his dads time as county judge? Oh and lets talk about the drilling rights there. Whose are they and how did that happen?

Too bad that he had to commit a crime to get famous! What did he think? That he wouldn't get caught...please..What an embarrassment to himself and his wife and family. I guess the more you want, you go and get it anyway you can. It must be a family tradition or a family business!!!

Almost certain he is a scapegoat. He probably turned in his co-conspirators all over laredo. Funny how his defense team did not make a statement. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for all the crooked lawyers at the local level, especially the ones in office.
