Laredoans are responding more and more to entertainment events. Official numbers say last night's concert featuring Mexican singer Espinoza Paz brought in over four thousand fans. Now LEA representatives are saying more and bigger shows are on their way. Carolina Garcia joins us now with more. LEA management is happy to see an increase in attendence to their events, some of them bringing a full house and record numbers to the arena. The last couple of months have brought a big response from Laredoans to events at the Laredo Energy Arena, including last night's show featuring Mexican singer Espinoza Paz; something managements says is a reflection of the city's growth and their marketing efforts. Marketing Manager Rafael Benavides says "We like to give Laredo a good time. We are the premier entertainment venue for South Texas so people come from all over South Texas and Mexico." He says many Laredoans are last minute shoppers with events such as George Lopez’s show selling over three thousand tickets the last two days before the show. Benavides says, "The crowd's been respoding. They've been coming out in record numbers to a lot of our shows more recently." But with all the events taking place at the Arena, there was one that sky rocketed ticket sales and brought in a record number of 92 hundred fans.” Benavides stated, “The Euphoria tour with Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, and Prince Royce that was a big show that sold out." It's Laredoans' response, he says, that is prompting promotors to ask the arena for a space in their calendars. The Marketing Manager said, “So they've been contacting us which is really good for Laredo. We have a lot more events coming up. A lot of bigger events." Many of those big events are still waiting to be finalized, but bands such as Mana, are already announcing their visit to Laredo with their tour "Drama y Luz" for the month of April.
