Laredo's newest water tower almost at 100%

By KGNS News

The ribbon cutting won't take place until mid-May, but city officials say a new water tower in Central Laredo is almost 100% complete.

Crews began raising the bowl that will hold three million gallons of water early Friday morning.

Located in the 2600 block of Bartlett, the tower was painted to reflect the Nixon pride of the area as well as a salute to Laredo firefighters, whose station is right next-door.

The water storage tank is expected to go online in late August and will be the biggest one in Laredo.

It will serve approximately 80,000 people.
