Man Allegedly Stealing From Deceased Truck Driver

A Laredo man has been arrested for stealing the possessions of a deceased man. 41-year-old Mauricio Ibarra, also known as “Cherry,” was arrested yesterday on charges of tampering with physical evidence, burglary and theft. Police say they were called out to Ibarra's home a few weeks ago, where they found a deceased truck driver. Since then the family of that deceased victim had been looking for some of his possessions, including a cell phone. Authorities say “Cherry” Ibarra had stolen the items after the victim’s death. Some of the things were even found at local pawnshops. An investigation is underway.
