Man Charged With Wife's Murder
The District Attorney's Office has formally charged a man with last year's seventh murder.
He allegedly shot and killed his wife in front of her children.
48-year-old Gilberto Tello is accused with the shooting death of his wife Marisela Flores-Tello back in October of last year.
The chief prosecutor for the Domestic Violence Unit, Melinda Vidaurri-Galvan., presented the case to a grand jury in the 49th District Court today.
The jury indicted Tello and charged him with the death of his wife.
He allegedly shot her several times back on October 23rd of 2011.
Police responded to a call of "shots fired" in the 15-hundred block of South Bartlett Avenue shortly before 7-30 that night.
There, they found the woman on the ground.
She was taken to the hospital, where she was declared dead shortly after 8 p-m.
Tello remains in custody at the Webb County Jail on a half-million dollar bond.
An arraignment date has not been set.
