Martin High School students going Green

By KGNS News

When it comes to creating a more pleasant and eco-friendly Laredo, a local high school is taking matters into their own hands. Students of Martin High School Global Health Club took to the streets of Laredo this morning to make a difference. Today's mission was adding plants at a park on Lafayette in West Laredo. The group is made up of dozens of students who have not only given some parks a make-over, but decided to go out to footballs games to collect empty bottles and recycle them.

The students plan on heading out to other local parks. They are also accepting any donations of materials or plants to beautify the city.  If you'd like to help please call 956-774-6961 for more information.

Good work MHS. These are life long habits that we all can use.

As a 1955 Martin High School graduate - I can say: "Very proud of you." MHS still has some good, caring young people.
