i guess they just shot themselves in the foot. its been about 2 weeks since cuellar insulted these generals. then the clown mayor comes to his defense. well in 2 weeks time in the rio grand valley. we've had 2 seperate cartel shoot outs with texas law enforcement. and those are the ones that have been reported. not the

Theres too much on the line to let this war on drugs end. Where you think all the customs, ice, dea, border patrol, atf, and homeland guys are going to go should the war on drugs end? Of course they won't all get fired, but it safe to say we won't be needing most of them. The war on drugs is guarantteed to continue forever. The government knows this, so they bust one group every now n again while getting info from narco informants granted (temporary) immunity. Until they outlive their use or get blown away by rivals. Lets face it, everyone involved makes money off the drugs being crossed over. from the low level dealers to the drug lords to the govt employees and the guys on bordertown laredo. Nobody really wants this war to end. Nobody but the innocent lives put at risk each and every day.

We have millions of people who are feeding the cartels with money, What the Generals are going to do about them, they live everywhere, New York, Maine, Texas, Colorado, California, D.C., Virginia, and so on... They are as dangerous as are the cartels. are the states with all these people a war zone ?? they are not, because we expect the problem is in another country not in the U.S. Declare the U.S. with an internal war zone, maybe they will get the millions they want to steal from the government creating little wars build up with lies.

This is a war waged by the US in other countries read Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, South East Asia and Mexico, all without a real effort to stem the demand for drugs here. Failed drug policies haven’t worked in 5 decades as shown by incarceration that obviously hasn’t worked and now these generals are spooking the public to create a war zone atmosphere on the border. Ease or revise the useless drug laws and that should placate this violence.

We are not in a war zone, but we are at the frontier of one of the biggest war zones to ever threaten the security of the United States. The inhuman thugs who operate these cartels, killing any and all who oppose them, are counting on us to remain complacent. For too long, Mexican authorities let these thugs operate with impunity in Mexico. It won't be long before they think that Americans "just don't care", or that they will cower at their show of strength in this country. No matter what your background, it is time to fight for our community and hold the line, making sure that the parasites of the drug world are dealt with swiftly and boldly. Maybe then, we can keep the violence from spilling over more than it has.

They talked to 30 people in 4 month, didn't call the mayors, police chiefs, wonder who they talked to. They should have come down for a week or two to see for themselves but I guess they are behind the line generals. Just making another political football for the politicians to kick around. Soon they will be calling for the returned servicemen from Iraq be sent down to the border as if 10,000 border patrol members were not enough.

Maybe war zone was a bit over dramatic to describe the border cities, but it will soon become just that if nothing gets done to protect us.
