Miss Laredo back home after impressive run

By KGNS News

Fresh off an impressive showing in the Miss Texas USA Pageant last month Miss Laredo made a stop in her hometown to talk about the pageant.

In the Houston competition that went down to the wire, Lauren Guzman came out first runner-up to the new Miss Texas, Brittany Booker.

Lauren had been crowned Miss Laredo, just a few weeks prior to the Texas pageant.

She says while she was obviously disappointed by the outcome, she's very grateful for the opportunity to represent Laredo at the state level.

And she's already getting ready for another run at the crown next year.

Meanwhile, Miss Guzman is focusing on her studies at Saint Mary's University in San Antonio where she' s studying about forensic science.

She's also has had numerous modeling jobs across the country.

As Miss Laredo, Lauren is focusing her efforts on several community awareness programs including wings, which brings awareness to breast cancer.
